Scope and Contents
The material portrays Marye family photos at Bellevue Farm in Kingsville, Maryland, the Roslin (Roslyn) home, and Althea Lodge in Upper Falls, Maryland. The photograph subjects include William B. Marye himself along with his parents, William Nelson Marye and Elizabeth Mary Bose Gittings Marye, cousins David Sterett Gitting, Victoria Sterett, Elizabeth Emma Gilder, and Louise Stafford Gilder. A mention of close friends is also included along with photos of Agnes Nash Boykin and Aaron Spencer. There is also a photograph of a Richard E. Stearns, perhaps a fellow archaeologist who worked with William B. Marye. There are some unidentified individuals among the photographs. However, it is quite possible they are more relatives to the Marye family. Most of the photographs appear to be at either Bellevue Farm or Althea Lodge and took place within a broad range of years beginning in about 1881 (exact years unknown).
