Biographical Note
Amy Davis (b.1956) is a Pulitzer-prize winning Baltimore Sun photojournalist. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union in New York City and worked at newpapers in Brooklyn, New York and northern New Jersey before arriving in Baltimore in 1987 to work at The Sun. As a staff photographer she covers everything from politics to education to breaking news to social issues.
Davis' photographs have been exhibited at the Jewish Museum of Maryland, the Brooklyn Museum, the Husdon River Museum, the National Building Museum, and the Maryland Center for History and Culture. In 2008 she embarked on a project to chronicle the history of Baltimore city movie theaters, cumulating in the publication of the book "Flickering Treasures: Rediscovering Baltimore's Forgotten Movie Theaters" in 2017.

Scope and Contents
The three photographs that comprise this collection were produced by photojournalist Amy Davis as part of her decade-long pursuit to chronicle the history of Baltimore city movie theaters. These photos showcase the buildings of former movie houses as well as Baltimore residents. The images are also featured in Davis' book "Flickering Treasures: Rediscovering Baltimore's Forgotten Movie Theaters."
