Commonplace book, 1844-1849, of Eliza Dall Thomas, kept while a student at the Patapsco Female Institute. Consists of compositions and poetry, some of which are originals by Eliza Dall Thomas, and quotes from literature. Subjects include friendship, womanhood, courtship, and marriage.

Biographical / Historical
Eliza Dall Thomas (1827–1892) was the daughter of Eliza Bradford Dall and Dr. Allen Thomas of Dallton near Elkridge in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Thomas was a student at the Patapsco Female Institute 1844–1849.
