Scope and Contents

1. Henry Didier Letterbook, 1809-15. Handwritten copies of letters sent by Didier from Paris, London, Cape Francois,and Baltimore on shipment of goods, arrivals and departures, and sale of merchandise.

2. Notebook containing shipping information, 1815-17. Dealing mainly with French contacts, the notebook contains a list of Merchants and custom's officers in Bordeaux, and charges for docking and shipping goods between Baltimore and Bordeaux. Also lists vessels clearing Odessa, 1816, China tea ports, origins of Sea Island cotton, lists of vessels owned by Didier?. Also includes American Rules on Shipping for 1815.
