Abstract

This is the scrapbook of Lillian H. Hofmeister, who was the wife of the Baltimore Harbormaster, Jean Hofmeister, during the Twentieth International Navigation Congress held in Baltimore, Maryland from September 11 to 19, 1961. The purpose of the convention was to address topics of international seaport development for the accommodation of nuclear vessels and supertankers.

The scrapbook of Mrs. Jean Hofmeister--wife of the Baltimore Harbormaster and a hostess during the Twentieth International Navigation Congress--contains nine printed invitations, two magazines, four handwritten letters, forty-eight newspaper clippings, eighteen printed memos and programs, one bulletin, nine publicity releases, and nine tour brochures.
