Abstract
Lyon Brothers & Company and related companies represented in this collection were Baltimore Grain Commodity brokers which operated from the mid-1800s through 1925. Over the years the business changed ownership several times. This collection encompasses three of those companies. This includes Lyon Brothers & Company, D. Yulee Huyett, and Huyett & Lyon. D. Yulee Huyett officially became Huyett & Lyon on June 30, 1919. The collection contains business correspondence, bills and receipts, cancelled checks, ledgers, insurance policies, and other such business records.

Each series is organized in the following order: business correspondence is followed by telegrams, bills and receipts, accounts, cancelled checks, and finally miscellaneous other records. All of the above are sorted alphabetically by company with important individuals/companies receiving their own folders. The sole exception is cancelled checks which are sorted chronologically.

Donated by Mrs. Ann Pearre Pardee in 1993.
