Scope and Contents

Earliest documents relate to John Shultz, mostly records of estates for which he served as executor. Some business papers of David Shriver, Sr., the most important chronicling a dispute with Daniel Lammott, 1785-86. Most relate to Andrew Shriver's merchant career in Baltimore Town, showing the sales and purchases of liquor, cloth, coffee, sugar, nails, oil, shoes, cheese, and flour. Letters to Andrew Shriver from John Fischer of Frederick, Maryland and Adam Forney of Hanover, Pennsylvania.
