Alice W. Hood collection
This collection consists of the biographical and genealogical material concerning the Hood family of Maryland. Also included are the personal letters of Alice Watkins Hood, as well as business records and correspondence of her father, John Mifflin Hood, president of the Western Maryland Railroad Company.
Artists' Excursion Over the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad photograph collection
This collection contains photographs of Baltimore and Ohio Railroad trains in Cumberland, Elysville, Frederick, Relay, Harpers Ferry, and West Virginia. Also included are group portraits of passengers aboard the train.
Furlong-Baldwin papers
The collection consists of letters of Sephonia Furlong Baldwin of Waterbury, Anne Arundel County from son Lewis Warrington Baldwin while employed with the Illinois Central Railroad, 1897-1901. The collection also contains letters from Mrs. Baldwin's husband and friends. Also included is the personal correspondence of Reverend Henry Furlong (1822-1886), from parishioners, family, friends, containing news of events in the Baltimore District of Methodist Episcopal church.
Garrett papers
The Garrett Papers primarily concern Robert Garrett (1847-1896) and his wife Mary F. Jacobs (1851-1936), spanning 1816 to 1950, although the bulk of material is dated from 1885 to 1896. The collection is comprised of 38 boxes containing an estimated 25,000 items.
Nielson-Leary papers
The Nielson-Leary papers contains correspondence, land and legal papers, family photographs, and printed ephemera collected by Edmund Leary, Baltimore resident and freight clerk of Pennsylvania Railroad, as well as Lydia Nielson, circa 1783-1987.
Shriver collection
The Shriver collection consists of daybooks, ledgers, cash books, and other accounts of the Shriver family businesses at Union Mills, Carroll County, Maryland (flour milling, saw millings, tanning, stores at Petersburgh and Big Pipe Creek). A majority of the collection is comprised of correspondence between the various members of the Shriver family concerning business and family happenings.
