Abstract

Sirkka Tuomi Lee was a Finnish immigrant to the United States. In this oral history interview, she discusses politics of the Socialist Party, Progressive Finns, and cooperatives. She also discusses the ethnic theatre, McCarran immigration Act, Sen. Joseph McCarthy era, the House of Un-American Activities Committee, the New Era Bookstore, the Finnish community in Baltimore, Maryland, and pre-World War I and post-World War II.
