Van Bibber, George Lindenburger, 1906-1979

Voluminous daily diary kept by Bel Air, Maryland resident George Lindenburger Van Bibber IV (1906-1979). He describes subjects such as meals, weather, conversations, parties, clothes, financial transactions, movies, books, radio and television programs, world affairs, and travels. The diary volumes are indexed in a card catalog system invented by Van Bibber in 1947.

This collection contains manuscript materials and ephemera related to the Highland Society of Harford County. The Society was incorporated in 1967 for the“preservation of the spirit, dress, music and antiquities of the Scottish people and is dedicated to the promotion of these traditions among those of Scottish ancestry within Harford County and its environs.”
