Scope and Contents
The Cohen collection contains correspondence of Benjamin I. Cohen circa 1845, Cecilia Cohen circa 1890, Eleanor S. Cohen circa 1915-1945, and Israel Cohen circa 1900-1915. There is a travel journal of Benjamin I. Cohen concerning his travels between Baltimore, Western Maryland, and West Virginia in 1819.
The collection also contains correspondence, financial reports and minutes related to the Maryland Historical Society circa 1904-1914, various newsclippings gathered by Mendes Cohen and Eleanor S. Cohen, a cookbook from A.M. Cohen, drafts and notes of William H. Winder's "History of MD," from 1803. There is alo a notebook on Maryland laws from James Carroll dated 1798-1816. These materials are contained in 6 boxes.
