Goucher Mansion, west side from north, circa 1964-1969

The collection is broken down into five series by neighborhood. Photographs found in Series IV & V, include building surveys with architectural data including original use, present use (1960s), building material, and notable features. The photographs in Series II-V were removed from their original ledgers. The photographs in Series I were numbered prior to their acquisition by MdHS; this numbering system was retained through the rest of the collection.

Series I: Miscellaneous

This series contains approximately 1,200 photographs of buildings in a number of neighborhoods, primarily in West Baltimore. Neighborhoods represented include: Fells Point, Mt. Vernon, Midtown, Bolton Hill, Upton, Madison Park, Federal Hill, Inner Harbor, Remington, Woodberry, Hampden, Cold Spring, Mondawmin, Woodbrook, Sandtown-Winchester, Harlem Park, Downtown, and Montebello. The most represented neighborhood is Bolton Hill.

Series II: Union Square

This series consists of 346 photographs of buildings in the Union Square Neighborhood. Streets represented include: Calhoun Street, Gilmor Street, Hollins Street, Lemmon Street, Lombard Street, Mount Street, Pratt Street, and Stricker Street.

Series III: Bolton Hill

This series consists of 210 photographs of buildings in Bolton Hill. Streets represented include: Bolton Place, Park Avenue,

Series IV: Seton Hill

This series consists of 506 photographs of buildings in the neighborhood of Seton Hill. Streets represented include: Druid Hill Avenue, Eutaw Street, Franklin Street, George Street, Jasper Street, Monument Street, Orchard Street, Paca Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, St. Mary’s Street, Seminary Court, and Tessier Street. Series V: Dickeyville

This series consists of 156 photographs of buildings in the neighborhood of Dickeysville. Streets represented include: Forest Park Avenue, Pickwick Road, Sekota Road, Tucker Lane, and Wetheredsville Road. Includes Building Surveys.
