Scope and Contents
A large collection of papers relating to the career of D. Luke Hopkins as a banker and civic leader. The papers consist mainly of correspondence between D. Luke Hopkins and members of various political, social, economic, and cultural organizations in Baltimore and the state of Maryland. The collection reflects Hopkins' interests and talents, and his devotion to the many organizations he was affiliated with whether as a committee member, trustee, or board member. Much of the correspondence is related to financial matters and fundraising campaigns as a result of Hopkins' expertise in banking affairs. Also included in the collection is information in the form of pamphlets, annual reports, and rule books concerning the organizations and clubs Hopkins was a part of. The collection also contains four photographs: three of D. Luke Hopkins and one of St. Paul's Cathedral in London, England. These have been removed to the Graphics Division.
