Incoming correspondence, 1819-82, largely to John H. B. Latrobe from Zachary Taylor, Reverdy Johnson, Roger B. Taney, Benjamin H. Latrobe, Charles Carroll, Washington Irving, and Daniel Webster among others; "Odds and Ends," a journal in the form of letter to his brother Charles, 1832-35; letterbook, 1829-35; journal of a European steamer trip, 1847; "Russian Correspondence, 1857-58," reminiscences of trip to Russia with son Ferdinand; "scrapbook", reminiscences and writings, 1830's; commonplace book kept while a student at West Point, [ca. 1818-21]; printed copies of his speeches; Latrobe's copies of Lawyer's Notebook, 1831 and Report Of All Such English Statues, 1811; manuscript of a novel "Mrs. George Fortescue"; John E. Semmes' John H. B. Latrobe and His Times. Album of Latrobe's wife Charlotte, 1831, and album and Civil War scrapbook of their daughter Virginia Isabella (Latrobe) Console (Mrs. Andrew V. Cogswell), 1856-58. Includes a copy of poem supposedly written by Major Andre to Margaretta Chew on the night before his expedition with Benedit Arnold.
