Scope and Contents
The Lehr Collection contains stereoviews from at least thirty different companies and independent photographers, including E. and H. T. Anthony and Co., W. M. Chase, The Keystone View Co., Griffith and Griffith, R. D. Crum, and others. The collection is organized in alphabetical order by company or photographer’s last name. The collection also contains 5 cabinet cards by unidentified photographers.
The collection includes a hand colored series of stereographs called Around the World (World Tours of Original Views) that features vibrant landscape and genre scenes from the United States, Russia, and Japan. Many of the stereographs, particularly the work of R. D. Crum, W. M. Chase, Isaac Haas, W.H. Cushing, and E. and H.T. Anthony and Co., depict scenic locations in the United States and Canada, such as Niagara, Watkins Glen in New York, and St. Augustine, Florida.
