Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Italian American Families Photograph Collection features over thirty images of the Italian American community in Baltimore, Maryland. Included in the collection are photographs of Italian-owned factories and shops and community organizations and events, as well as portraits of various families. Events and festivals in Baltimore’s Little Italy also make up a significant part of the collection.

The photographs are organized into eleven series based on content: DioGiorgio Fruit Company, Dell’Uomo and Gioiovonnucci Families, Flaccomio, Sun of Italy Plant, Italian American Organizations, Little Italy, Antonio Apicella’s clothing factory, Matarazzo Family, Guerriero Family, Miscellaneous, and Flag House dedication. Some of the photographs included identifications perhaps supplied by the donors of the images. The collection is a compilation of several donations related to the Italian American community.
