MS 3186, the Larry Kamanitz Collection consists of papers, correspondence, photographs, ephemera and prints totaling four boxes. The collection spans seven decades from the late 1930s to the late 1990s. The collection is broken down into eight series.

Series I: Larry S. Kamanitz (Box 1)

This series consists of correspondence between the political organizer and activist Larry Kamanitz, and several political figures, in addition to his campaign for the State Central Committee, edited speeches and other miscellaneous items.

Series II: June Wing (Box 1)

This series consists of materials related to prominent political activist June Wing and her husband Wilson Wing. The series contains her correspondence with notable politicians, including President Jimmy Carter, Senator Barbara Mikulski, Senator Paul Sarbanes, Senator George McGovern, and Senator Hubert Humphrey. June Wing’s campaign material and speeches before Congress are also highlights of this series.

Series III: Senator Eugene McCarthy (Box 1)

This series consists of items related to Minnesota Senator and presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy. Materials include papers from political organizations, congressional meeting minutes, correspondences, photographs, speeches, and newspaper articles.

Series IV: Political Organizations (Box 1 – 2)

This series consists of manuscript items and ephemera related to various political organizations including the New Democratic Coalition of Maryland, Baltimore’s Peace and Justice Elders, Eastern Coalition for Democratic Reform, Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy (SANE), and other groups.

Series V: Political Campaigns and Fundraising (Box 2)

This series consists of ephemera related to various campaign and fundraising events. There is also a photograph of Sargent Shriver at a McGovern-Shriver Rally.

Series VI: Newspapers and Publications (Box 2 - 3a)

This series consists of items from newspapers and other publications, most related to national politics and the anti-war movement.

Series VII: Miscellaneous (Box 3a, 3b)

This series consists of miscellaneous correspondence, notes, interviews, and other items. Items in box 3b are restricted due to mold. Photocopies of the materials can be found in Box 3a, folder 125.

Series VIII: Anti-War Prints and Photographs (Box 4, Oversize Folder)

This series consists of prints created by political activist and Baltimore Four member Thomas Lewis. There is also one framed photograph taken by Robert Z. George in 1969 of the October 15th Moratorium.
