This collection contains the papers relating to Thomas Meredith, a dry goods merchant in Baltimore, including his business and personal papers, 1772-1872.

Abstract Collection consists of correspondence addressed to Thomas Swann while he was president of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company. Correspondence chiefly written by Swann's associates at the B and O, such as James Cooke and B. H. Latrobe. Also includes financial reports, annual reports, Swann's speeches and Swan's essays. This is the scrapbook of Lillian H. Hofmeister, who was the wife of the Baltimore Harbormaster, Jean Hofmeister, during the Twentieth International Navigation Congress held in Baltimore, Maryland from September 11 to 19, 1961. The purpose of the convention was to address topics of international seaport development for the accommodation of nuclear vessels and supertankers.
