Biographical / Historical

The Yoe and Wack families immigrated to Baltimore from Germany in 1840s-1850s. William Kalben served in United States Navy in World War I; Dorothy Yoe Kalben was a member of the Baltimore Health Deptartment; Bertha Wooden attended the Normal School and was taught by Sarah E. Richmond; Wooden taught school in Washington County in 1890s and married Henry E. Wack. Bertha Wooden was mother of the donor.
