Letters and papers of Charles Carroll of Carrollton 1737-1832 relating to contemporary politics, including Stamp Act; jurisdiction of Federal Courts in criminal cases; analysis of proposed Constitution; copy of Carroll's journal of voyage to England, 1757. Mid-18th century land papers, lists of ground rent and rent in arrears, 1804 and 1826; miscellaneous family correspondence of Charles Carroll of Carrollton. Other items include Charles Carroll Sr.'s petition to General Assembly June, 1778; and "Second letter to the reader", Oct. 5, 1779.
