Abstract

The Trustees of the Maryland Historical Society oral history collection includes three interviews with members of the Maryland Historical Society Board of Trustees. The interviews document the narrators' family histories and how each became involved with the Maryland Historical Society.

Biographical / Historical

Founded in 1844, the Maryland Historical Society (rebranded as the Maryland Center for History and Culture in 2020) is the oldest continuously operating nonprofit cultural institution in the state of Maryland. The role of the Board of Trustees is to provide the organization with guidance through governance and fiduciary responsibility. Trustees also act as representatives of the organization to the community.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes three oral history interviews conducted by Donna Omata under the direction of Maryland Historical Society Deputy Director of the Library Dr. Bea Hardy.

The narrators were all members of the Maryland Historical Society Board of Trustees at different points in their lives.
