Chase family papers
Scope and Contents
Photostatic copies of papers and letters to the Chase family of Maryland, particularly of Annapolis, spanning 1714-1855. Letters are to and from Reverend Richard Chase, Reverend Thomas Chase, Thomas Chase (1774-1826), Matilda Chase (d.1829), Judge Jeremiah Townley Chase (1748-1828), Judge Samuel Chase (1741-1811), and Ann Chase (1711-1852). There is also correspondence between Maryanne Caton, Robert G. Harper, and Miss Ann Chase and genealogical information on the Chase, Townley, and Townley-Chase families.

Biographical Note
Prominent Annapolis, Maryland family who were lawyers, land owners, and judges. Samuel Chase was justice of the U. S. Supreme Court.
