Abstract

This collection contains the business correspondence and papers of Alexander Y. Dolfield relating to Baltimore City and County, 1872-1913. The collection covers the periods when he was a land developer, founder of building and loan associations, a real estate man, treasurer and President of the German American Bank. Include receipts, bills, tax forms, contracts, indentures. Included are illustrated bill heads and letterheads, 1870-1900. A large no. of the bills are for builders supplies and give an interesting picture of the materials used. Also testimony of the alleged fraud of Franklin Bank, Baltimore, 1863. correspondence between J. N. Casanova and Alexander Dolfield, 1886-1899; two postal cards with cartoons by A. J. Volck sent to Miss Edith Lamping, 1908.
