Abstract

This collection contains the letterbook of Thomas Ferguson, Baltimore merchant, with copies of communications to correspondents in ports from Boston to New Orleans. The letters show extensive dealings in tobacco, wheat, oil, and other staple articles, and contains some holograph copies. Also included is an account book begun by Thomas Ferguson, dry goods merchant, and continued as William B[oyd] Ferguson & Co., Union Mills, Baltimore, mustard, flour, sugar & cocoa refiners. The book is titled "Cooperage Ac Book" but contains notations of wages paid "sundry mechanics".
