This collection consists of portraits of members of the Yoe, Wack, Kalben and Wooden families ca. 1890-1900 as well as views from around the state, including Baltimore and Western Maryland.

Biographical / Historical
Bertha Wooden (married Henry E. Wack) was the mother of the donor. She attended Normal School and taught in Washington County, Maryland. Dorothy Yoe (married William Kalben) was a member of the staff of the Baltimore County Health Department. The Yoe and Wack families immigrated to Baltimore from Germany in the 1840s-1850s.

Scope and Contents
The Collection include portraits of members of the Yoe, Wack, Kalben and Wooden families circa 1890-1900 and views from around the state, including Baltimore and Western Maryland. Many of the photographs concern Bertha Wooden’s life in Washington County in the 1890. Views include church and Sunday school friends and activities.
