Scope and Contents

The Maryland Iron Furnaces Photograph Collection contains almost forty images of iron furnaces. Michael Warren Robbins photographed the remaining above-ground structures of the Antietam, Catoctin, Gunpowder River, Nassawango, and Principio furnaces. Robbins wrote several books on the iron industry in Maryland. A map of the various structures is also included in the collection.
