Scope and Contents

The first section of this collection contains Theodore Forster's personal financial records including family budget accounts (1946-1965), income tax returns (1917-1958), and an insurance claim for stolen jewelry (1946).

The second section contains the papers of Charles H. Carland, Inc., of which Forster was president. The Baltimore firm was an authorized dealer of Benjamin Moore paints. Records include correspondence regarding the collection of delinquent accounts (1937-1953); audits, appraisals, and financial statements (1929-1949); corporation tax returns (1929-1951); employee and payroll data (1936-1950); bills and receipts (1950-1960); and account books and ledger cards (1929-1951).
