Abstract

The Hoopper account books are two volumes that contain information on S. Steuart Hoopper's salary and investment income and detailed monthly expenditures for rent, food, clothing, utilities and fuel, medicine, trips, and other topics. Of particular note are Hoopper's wedding expenses in 1910, Christmas gift lists, and fees for his daughter's tonsillectomy from 1919.
