Scope and Contents
This series of interviews focuses upon traditional Maryland sports, including lacrosse, horse racing, fox hunting, and jousting. Topics include the origins and history of lacrosse; the Lacrosse Hall of Fame, located on the Johns Hopkins University campus in Baltimore; the history of the Maryland Horse Magazine and the Maryland Horse Breeders Association; Maryland horse racing and breeding compared to other states; origins and history of jousting in Maryland; jousting culture; background of fox hunting in the United States; fox hunting clubs in Maryland: Howard County, Elkridge Hunt Club; fox hunting culture and organization.
Each interview includes an audio recording, interview summary, tape index and biographical form.
