Biographical / Historical
The Male Free School was founded in January, 1892, under the direction of the Methodist Church of Baltimore, with "the object of educating poor children without regard to creed." Miss Rachel Colvin of Baltimore bequeathed the school ten thousand dollars so that it could extend the same education to girls.
