Gift of Margaret H. Young; (from the estate of F.Pauline Blackford) Nov. 19, 1982 and March 23, 1983.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists mostly of the genealogical data compiled by Pauline Blackford. In addition to family records, there is correspondence (1868-1896) between William Blackford (died 1922), his brothers and uncle, John Mayer. There are records and deeds of property held in Sharpsburg, Maryland, Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and an estate on the Potomac River. Information may be found concerning the Franklin, Van Swearingen, Rohrer and other families.
