Biographical Note

Edward Tilghman Paca, Jr. (1843-1922) was the great-grandson of William Paca, governor of Maryland and signer of the Declaration of Independence. Edward lived on the Wye Plantation on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. In 1862 he joined the Confederate Army and fought until 1865. He was captured twice by Union soldiers.
