John Henry Alexander papers
Abstract
The John Henry Alexander collection contains correspondence, memorandums, official records, and personal writings related to Alexander's interests and activities. Included are items on: George's Greek Coal and Iron Co., the Episcopal Church of Maryland diocese, weights and measures and inventions; also maps and drawings, glossaries, life insurance tables. Copy and MS for several books: treatise on levelling and on mathematical instrument dictionary of weights and measures.

Biographical / Historical
John Henry Alexander was a chemist and physicist. Typographical engineer of Maryland in 1834. Service in many government commissions. Treatise on Mathematical Instrument Contributions and on the History of Metallurgy of Iron, 1840.
