Paul Watkins has been the stable boss for over thirty years at a Fells Point livery stable. The building has changed very little since it was built in 1833. At one time over forty-five horses and wagons were kept here. They were rented to "Arabs," fruit and vegetable vendors and "junkies" (junk men). The building which houses the stable was recently sold to a large east coast bakery. The last six horses were sold in early 1980. The stable is now closed, 1979

Herman Fischer, a plant custodian for the now closed National Brewing Company building on Conkling Street, Highlandtown. In 1975 the National Brewing Company was merged with Carling Brewing Company. Shortly thereafter the plant at Conkling and Dillon Streets was closed. As a result, most of the employees were either transferred or laid off.
