Baltimore United Fire Department minute books
Proceedings of the standing committee created to carry out official regulations adopted for the conduct of the 15 volunteer fire companies in Baltimore. List of 28 rules in front of volume, followed by minutes of regular and special meetings. Includes reports of contrivances between the companies.
Cathcart scrapbooks
This collection contains five volumes of newspaper clippings on the Baltimore Fire Department and accounts of fires from 1887-1908. The scrapbooks include clippings about electric subways and movement to abandon overhead wires in Baltimore, 1894-1896, preserved by A. Rozel Cathcart, President of Board of Fire Commissioners.
Independent Fire Company minute book
This collection contains a record of proceedings at meetings of the volunteer fire unit. Included is the constitution with 10 articles, 19 laws, and 281 signatures of members. The name changed from the Federal Fire Company to the Independent Fire Company on December 3, 1810. A new constitution with 31 articles was adopted on January 1, 1816.
