This collection contains the roster of companies of the 53rd regiment of Maryland Volunteers before the Civil War.
Fifth Regiment record books
This collection contains two volumes of records related to Maryland regiments. Volume I contains the proceedings of court martial for an infantry branch of the Maryland Militia, commanded by Col. George H. Stuart. Included are mainly fines for absences from parades. Volume II contains the roll book of Company F, 5th Regiment, Maryland National Guard, kept by Sgt. J. W. Hunter, showing attendance at drills and parades.
First Mechanical Volunteers record book
This collection includes the company book of the Baltimore group attached to the 5th regiment Maryland Militia, commanded by Captain Charles Howard. The record book includes muster rolls, returns and orders.
First Ward Guard minute book
This collection contains the proceedings and regulations of a military organization of Baltimore's First Ward (Fell's Point), a branch of the City Guards, commanded by Capts. Patrick Cooney (to 1841) and John A. Robb. Also included is a small pamphlet printed between 1873-1882, titled "Constitution and By-laws of the Baltimore City Guard Association," found enclosed in the volume. The volume was compiled by John Monmonier, secretary.
