Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The collection contains a photograph album created by Edna Claiborne Latrobe for her sister, Mary Mactier Latrobe (later Harris), which spans 1895 to 1905. The Latrobes visited the Bedford Springs Hotel in Pennsylvania for several summers, and the bulk of photographs in the album are of the hotel, the annual egg race, and group portraits from parties the sisters attended. Newspaper clippings about hotel events are scattered throughout the album. Photographs from their trips to Canada and Europe are also included, as well as several pictures of automobile excursions, which feature early models of Fords and Mors, and group portraits from German Cotillions.
