Scope and Contents
The Clayton-Evans Family Photograph Collection consists of two boxes of 52 photographs, the majority depicting members of the Clayton-Evans family, dating circa 1850s-1902. There are also some photographs of the U.S.S. Constitution in Boston as well as a portrait of Anne Lowe, an African American woman identified as "nurse for Paul." The image formats include cased photographs – daguerreotypes and ambrotypes or tintypes – matted prints, carte de visites, and cabinet cards.
