Hawkins collection
Abstract
This collection contains the business papers (1884-1902) of Gilbert Smith Hawkins, a lawyer of Bel Air, Maryland. These include correspondence with lawyers; letters concerning legal cases, bills and receipts; political matters, correspondence with the Maryland Democratic Central Committee; some personal correspondence. Twelve copy letter books 1895-1902, of Gilbert Hawkins letters concerning business, etc. Secretary's book of the Bel Air Fire and Salvage Company minutes taken by Gilbert Hawkins, January 28-June 14, 1898. Three ledgers of Gilbert Hawkins 1889-1902, showing legal fees, settlement of estates, costs, etc.
