James Maughlin diary
This collection contains the Civil War diary of James W. Maughlin (1837-1869), third engineer on the gunboat steamer "Kineo" as it supported Admiral Farragut's fleet in the Mississippi between New Orleans and Port Huron. The diary contains a daily record of the events between January 1, 1863 to July 29, 1863. Also included in this collection is a typed transcript of the diary with footnotes, and a photograph of James W. Maughlin, circa 1861.
