The collection consists of estate papers, including financial, legal and land records. The collection also contains diaries, medical account books, correspondence, and documents related to enslaved individuals. Other families represented include Bowen, Stansbury, Ensor, Merryman, and Matthews.
Greenfield family manuscript collection
Contains correspondence between Greenfield family members which discuss religion, health, agriculture, and politics. Multiple letters addressed to Samuel from his siblings, and later letters are addressed to Mary Elizabeth from her nieces and nephews.

The Henry Steele papers contain deeds, leases, correspondece and other papers of Henry, Anne, and James Steele, with lists and photostatic and typed copies of documents in the collection.
Hill papers
The collection is made up of two principal series: the papers of Clement Hill, 1683 to 1819, and the business accounts of Clement Hill, 1701 to 1823. Also contained within the collection are land survey books dating from 1670 to 1715, mostly relating to Clement Hill, Sr. The bulk dates for both the papers and the accounts are between about 1760 to 1785. Gaps exist both before and after these dates.
