Harford County (Md.)

This collection contains manuscript materials and ephemera related to the Highland Society of Harford County. The Society was incorporated in 1967 for the“preservation of the spirit, dress, music and antiquities of the Scottish people and is dedicated to the promotion of these traditions among those of Scottish ancestry within Harford County and its environs.”

This collection contains photographs made or collected by J. Gilman D'Arcy Paul, depicting rural scenes and historic estates and houses in Baltimore city and Baltimore County, Maryland, as well as twelve other Maryland counties.

This collection contains primary source material collected by Joseph L. Hughes to further his interest in the study of Harford County history, many of which were the basis for talks given by Hughes on occasion, and for articles appearing in various local newspapers.

This collection consists of the personal and political papers of Mary E. W. Risteau (1890-1978), the first woman elected to the Maryland House of Delegates, 1921, and the State Senate, 1935.

The Sherman slide collection contains approximately 180 35mm color slides, 1970-1974, of landmarks (Baltimore Zoo, Hopkins Plaza, etc.) and events (City Fair, Flower Mart, etc.) in Baltimore City and Harford County.

This collection contains correspondence, deeds, wills, and other ephemera of the Wetherall and related families.
